Smoothies are amazing for breakfast on summer mornings when all you wanna eat is cold foods. I usually eat my smoothies with a spoon cause this way I can add a load of granola. Lately the trend has been acai, spirulina, blue spirulina, and all kinds of “superfood” bowls. I love trying things like this but at home I tend to keep it simple with just fruits and maybe some nuts or seeds.
2 frozen bananas
1 handful of frozen berries (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries…)
1 small handful of cashew nuts (optional)
1 tbsp chia seeds (optional)
1-2 dl water or milk (add enough to blend the smoothie)
Blend all ingredients except the granola in a blender or food processor (a blender needs a bit more liquid than a food processor)
Transfer to a bowl and top with granola
Tip: The bananas are a good sweetener but to get an even sweeter smoothie bowl you can add dates, honey, maple syrup or what you have on hand.
